Maiz’Europ’ is the umbrella organisation for the French maize sector, operating as a collective comprised of different maize-producing entities with distinct lines of activity.
● AGPM [Association Générale des Producteurs de Maïs], France’s General Association of Maize Growers, is the “parent” entity and was founded in 1934. It is a central part of the professional organisation of maize production, representing and promoting maize and maize producers in dealings with French and European authorities.
The AGPM has specialised sections for specific sectors:
- AGPM seed maize for seed maize producers.
- AGPM sweet corn for sweet corn producers.
- Irrigants de France for irrigating farmers, whether maize-growers or other arable crop producers (oil & protein seed and potatoes).
The AGPM, together with the wheat producers’ association, AGPB [Association Générale des Producteurs de Blé], and the oil & protein seed producers’ association, FOP [Fédération Française des Producteurs d'Oléagineux et de Protéagineux], is a founding member of ORAMA, the French arable crop union.
● FNPSMS [Fédération Nationale de la Production des Semences de Maïs et de Sorgho], the French national federation of seed maize and sorghum production, is the federation of maize seed companies and growers working towards a common objective, i.e. to manage French seed production and help develop and expand it both in France and internationally.
● CEPM, the European Confederation of Maize Growers [Confédération Européenne de la Production de Maïs], is the European extension of the AGPM and is responsible for representing European maize producers, defending their interests and conducting business intelligence.
● GERM-Services is a commercial subsidiary with its own analytical laboratory.
● AGPM-GIE is an association of functional facilities providing services for the maize sector.
